My name is Mavis de Ridder, I’m from the area around Leiden and 18 years old. My function is Game (Systems) Programmer.
Ever since I was very young, I’ve wanted to make my own games. I was always very interested in programming and loved to write small batch scripts on the family laptop.
When I got stuck doing VWO in secondary school, I started looking for an MBO-study. Once I saw Game Development at the Mediacollege Amsterdam listed, I immediately knew this was what I wanted to do.
In daily life I like to, besides working on personal development projects, play guitar and bass-guitar. Regarding Game Development, my interests are quite broad. I prefer working in smaller teams, because I like to have the option to contribute in broad ways to the final product – I’m a creative person. I like to help develop the game-play, but also design and program logical systems used in the game. That’s why I prefer to work in a chill environment where everyone is able to contribute what they can. I have experience working with Unity, C#, C++, Python, and using external devices (like micro:bit, Arduino).
My ambition is nothing more than making fun things with fun people, and putting our collective passion into the project.
You can find my resume/CV here in English and here in Dutch.
